Complaints on commuter trains about outages on the R2 line
The airport access works will leave the section between Vilanova and El Prat without trains until Sunday.

BarcelonaA new rail closure—this one lasting four days—is directly affecting traffic on the R2 commuter line. Since yesterday, May 1, until Sunday, May 4, trains have not been running between the Vilanova y la Geltrú and El Prat de Llobregat stations. The reason for this closure is the airport access works, which have forced Renfe to implement a new alternative plan with buses to cover the route by road. However, complaints on this working Friday for many people have not been long in coming.
"The issue with buses in Vilanova is inhumane. No one provides information, buses are very far from the station, insufficient, a total waste of time," laments one user on the social network X. Renfe claims that the bus stop is close to the station, but passengers deny it.
Adif has scheduled these works to coincide with the May Day long weekend to minimize the number of passengers (and weekdays) possible. Buses departing from Vilanova i la Geltrú also have intermediate stations on lines R2 and R2 Sud to ensure the mobility of travelers in this area. Furthermore, the closure also affects regional services between Cunit and Barcelona: passengers on lines R14, R15, R16, and R17 will also have to travel this part of the journey by road.
In total, Renfe has set up a system of buses that depart every 15 minutes to Barcelona. Specifically, 8,700 journeys. Some are direct (shuttle services) and others connect to Sitges, Gavà, and Castelldefels. There is also a minibus that covers the section between Sitges-Garraf and Castelldefels.
