Arrested in Barcelona a man who was going down the street with a large knife
The arrested person has a mental disorder and the Mossos have shot to stop him
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have arrested a man this Thursday who alerted pedestrians by walking with a bladed weapon in his hand through the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona. Mossos agents managed to subdue him with a Taser gun; during the operation, an agent also used his service firearm.
The alert reached the emergency services at 11:45 AM, and warned that a man was walking with a bladed weapon down Mandri street, according to Mossos sources. Videos shared by some users on social media show how the man walked along General Mitre street until the intersection with Muntaner street; it was here that the police were able to subdue him.
Once the man was subdued, the Mossos arrested him for an alleged crime of threats and an attack against an authority agent. According to sources close to the case, the man has a diagnosed mental disorder.
