The mayor of Palamós (Baix Empordà), Lluís Puig, has announced that he is stepping down as mayor of the city due to mental and emotional exhaustion after a decade at the helm. ERC will propose Deputy Mayor and Third Vice President of the Girona Provincial Council, Maria Puig, as his replacement.
