BarcelonaComedian Jair Domínguez, acquitted. The Barcelona Court of Appeal has cleared him of the hate crime for which Vox was seeking two years in prison for having said in 2021 on Catalunya Ràdio that "fascism is fought with a punch in the mouth". According to the court, the expressions are part of the framework of freedom of expression, in a sarcastic space, and it points out that direct violence against the far-right political party was not incited. Domínguez argued in court that the expressions he used are "a way of emphatically saying that fascism and Nazism must be silenced, a way of standing up to their rise".
