Enric Daza, spokesperson for Junts in the Cambrils City Council, will be Aliança Catalana's candidate in the next municipal elections. This was announced this Monday at an event held in Cambrils, accompanied by the Secretary of Organization of Aliança Catalana, Oriol Gès, and the head of the list for Tarragona of the party in the last elections to the Parliament of Catalonia, Aurora Fornos.

Among the reasons Daza has given for his decision, he has assured that the municipality needs to "restore order", "strengthen security", and "place the interests of Cambrils residents at the center of all decisions". "I am convinced that Aliança Catalana is the force that will allow us to make this change possible", remarked the now former spokesperson for Junts. In this regard, Daza has assured that this change has been the result of a "deep reflection" shared with the citizen collective Més Cambrils.

During the event, Daza was accompanied by the other two councilors from Junts in Cambrils and, according to Aliança, both also commit to continuing to work together to develop a government program based on aspects such as "Catalan identity, security, civility, census control" or "quality tourism".

Celebration at Aliança

Regarding the Aliança Catalana party, they have celebrated the incorporation of Daza, an event they assure will initiate "a new stage in Cambrils with the objective of consolidating a governmental alternative that responds to the present and future challenges of the municipality".

In fact, in a tweet on their "X" account and in the same vein as Daza, they have assured that their intentions are to "recover order, strengthen security, and place the interests of the people of Cambrils at the center of political action".

Daza's controversies

Daza is not the first time he has been at the center of Cambrils' public agenda. In 2025, the then mayor of the PSC, Alfredo Clúa, expelled him from the municipal government for "lack of respect" and arguments.
