Parker wanted to say goodbye to viewers with a video with images that cover the entire trajectory of his character: from the original series of'HBO, through films, to the current television stage, which will come to a definitive end on August 14.

"She crossed streets, avenues, and even rivers –or so it seemed–. She broke hearts, heels, and habits. She loved, lost, won, stumbled, jumped, fell short, and fell into puddles. She grew older, she grew wiser," Parker writes on the social network. She adds: "She has traveled far and near, she has wandered through the new and the classic, with friends and with loves. She has changed houses, time zones, partners, thoughts, shoes, and haircuts... but she has never left behind her love or devotion to the city of New York."

Her farewell has also served to vindicate the relationships that have marked the character's life: "[Carrie] has had dates, drinks, partners, a husband and great loves. She has taken taxis, run in heels and danced with Stanford. She has told the truth and lied, she has written and published, and yet she has remained steadfast." Finally, Parker closes with a reflection on the essence of the series: "She has carried shame, pride, honor, optimism... and has worn countless dresses and tutus. She has clung to hope and, above all, to her great friends: Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, Charlotte. Carrie, having met and loved Seema and Lisa, with whom she has shared an almost divine bond."

The farewell to the companions
