I want to talk about football
I must confess my deep envy of men's football fans. I feel it much less for women's football fans, because although it's generating more interest now, it doesn't occupy the same space. Let's not kid ourselves. I envy them because their entertainment, or their religion, I dare say, occupies many prominent spots in radio and television programming, and above all because, when it becomes news considered relevant, everything else is set aside and that topic is treated as if nothing else were happening in the world. If you're not interested in football, you can't believe the amount of time that can be spent discussing topics you wouldn't dedicate more than zero or a minute to. But what I envy is that in weeks like this one, full of terrible news for the world, or like the previous one, also filled with bad news, football fans are able to abstract themselves from this reality, prioritizing the fact that there's been a change of coach or a good result in a match. For those who are always overreacting, and I'm never sure if they understand what I write, I'll add that I know you might like football and be worried about the world political situation. But the football fans They have this refuge where everything that happens is important, even if its relevance is debatable. And it's not snobbishness that makes me uninterested in football. At another time in my life, I used it as a sedative. But it's like other things I've tried that haven't quite grabbed me, like mushroom hunting or spending the summer at the beach. However, I'm not reading books while everyone else is watching a football match. Or not always, in any case. It's possible that while I'm listening to the fans' shouts, I'm watching a bad TV series or talking about other trivial matters in the kitchen.
As for me, it no longer gives me that impression. sedative And I'm not worried about the coaches or the players, just their hairstyles and tattoos. What worries me is seeing how, while Barça beats Madrid, Trump makes promises to the Iranian people; or how the far right... worry For the women of Iran. Because when a figure like Trump offers something and doesn't take it himself, it means it could end up costing them even more. And when a figure like Ayuso defends an alleged rapist by saying that "the Community of Madrid will never contribute to the discrediting of artists, and even less so of the most universal singer of all," and uses the women of Iran to attack the far left, "the raped and attacked women are there," the level is so petty that I don't understand why the debates about the debate aren't happening. There are women, yes, women, sexist and fascist, there are many, who have no limits anywhere and might even vouch for someone who would burn them alive in one of their mansions. They'd burn everything down first.
But what has left me absolutely intrigued is the concept of the far left. Not because I don't understand it, but because I don't know who it refers to. If there were a far left, we would have known about it. Either it's one of those neologisms I'm completely lost with, or I have no idea where the far left is or who represents it. Perhaps I'd find it in football stadiums, because they have an ultra-leftist faction, but it's rarely discussed. And football is a hot topic. But since we do know where the far right is and who represents it, I'd appreciate it if they left Iranian women alone. They have enough to deal with every day, risking their lives. And this game is so rarely discussed that we forget about it while they score goal after goal against us.
