Three new features from MWC that you might find very useful
The world's most important mobile phone and technology fair has served to unveil new developments in this field that can make our lives easier.
BarcelonaThe Mobile World Congress is the world's most important event for mobile technology and telecommunications. Every year, companies, experts, and journalists participate to present new phones, networks, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and 5G/6G technology. These are three of the many innovations that were showcased this year.
An articulated mobile phone camera
One of the most striking proposals came from Honor, which unveiled what it calls the Robot Phone. Unlike regular mobile phones, this prototype has a camera mounted on a small robotic arm that can move precisely to track people or stabilize images. The system operates with a four-degree articulation and is controlled by artificial intelligence. This allows the camera to adjust itself and maintain framing even in motion. The device features a 200-megapixel sensor and various AI-powered recording modes. For example, it can automatically track objects or stabilize video to make mobile phone recordings look more like those from professional equipment.
The most advanced laptops
At Mobile World Congress 2016, Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy Book6 series of laptops. The range includes three models: the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy Book6. This new generation of computers is designed to integrate artificial intelligence into everyday life, whether for work, content creation, or study, according to the Korean brand. With the Galaxy Book6 series, the company also aims to expand its Galaxy ecosystem, making it easier for devices to connect with each other. The laptops feature the new Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, which include a dedicated NPU for faster and more efficient AI processing directly on the device. The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra also incorporates an NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU, enabling it to handle professional creative work and more demanding graphics processes. Furthermore, the cooling system has been redesigned to maintain stable performance. "In these laptops, artificial intelligence isn't just an extra feature. It's part of the device's design itself. It combines local processing with cloud services, all under the protection of Samsung Knox, which is responsible for keeping data secure," say its creators.
Glasses with speakers
Another presentation that garnered significant attention took place at the Google booth, where they showcased a prototype of smart glasses based on Android XR. The glasses feature a microphone, speakers, and cameras, as well as a small screen integrated into the right lens. This allows users to interact with the Gemini artificial intelligence in a very natural way: simply by looking at things or speaking. During the demonstrations at the trade show, for example, users could look at a building and ask for information about it, consult routes on Google Maps, or play music with YouTube Music. Although still just a prototype, Google explained that they are working to bring these glasses to market someday. The idea, they explain, is to create lightweight glasses that combine mixed reality and artificial intelligence for everyday use.
