Lena Dunham's return, a must-see comedy and a modern Columbo: July's eight standout series

The coastal town of Gweedore is completely unhinged by the discovery of a hand with a watch in one of the nearby marshes. Local police officer Conall Ó Súilleabháin quickly identifies the owner of the limb: it's his mother, who disappeared fifteen years ago. Removed from the investigation due to his proximity to the victim, the police officer joins forces with Ciara-Kate, a journalist and podcaster from true crime with whom he will try to find out what happened.

With GirlsLena Dunham marked an era and an entire generation that still revisits episodes of the series today. After several film projects, the American actress returns to television with a romantic comedy co-written with her husband, the British-Peruvian musician Luis Felber. They didn't go far for inspiration, because they based it loosely on their relationship. Unlike Girls, here Dunham has given up being the lead actress and has signed Megan Statler, a comic revelation thanks to Hacks, as the protagonist. She is Jessica, a workaholic from New York who moves to London after a traumatic breakup. Although her intention is to put love aside and live a life of seclusion in the style of the Brontë sisters, Jessica will change her mind when she meets Felix, an indie musician who is not exactly what you would expect from a Prince Charming or one of the heartthrobs of the rom-coms British women who fall in love with the protagonist.

5.

Rebellious, eccentric, and impulsive. The six Mitford sisters—Nancy, Pamela, Diana, Unity, Jessica, and Deborah—members of the English aristocracy, broke all the molds of what was expected of them. This BBC miniseries delves into each of their biographies and questions how they could all be so different from one another.
