Homophobic insults against Héctor Fort for taking a photo with an LGBTI activist
Some social media users issued hate messages for the snapshot

BarcelonaHector Fort, a Barça footballer, has become the latest victim of LGBTI-phobia on social media after taking a photo with Brigitta Lamoure, a presenter, singer and social activist. The photo, in which Fort is holding Lamoure, was posted by the activist herself on her Instagram and X accounts, accompanied by the text "Easter Sunday" and is part of the International Solidarity Sport gala organized by Josep Maldonado, former member of the Parliament of Catalonia and the Congress of Deputies.
"Please tell me this is a fake. "Héctor is not gay", "Héctor, you're sleeping outside today", "We'll talk at home, Hector" or "Héctor, what does this mean? We'll talk today" are some of the comments left by other users on Lamoure's post. "It's a shame so much hate. But that should serve to keep us fighting for a free, secular, diverse and inclusive society," Lamoure wrote on her X account.
In addition, the activist has contacted the Observatory Against Homophobia to report the events. The Observatory has quoted Lamoure's tweet to express its full support: "We must confront and eradicate LGTBI-phobia. Absolute condemnation of hatred towards diversity and freedom." Barça has also spoken out on the events: "FC Barcelona always and everywhere condemns homophobic attitudes in society and sport."
This latest example of LGTBI-phobia in football comes after Borja Iglesias, Betis striker who scored a goal on Saturday hat trick against Barça, was the target of other homophobic comments and publicly denounced it.Philandering, next time give them four or I'll steal your girlfriend (although I don't think you care)", "Historic day, Borja Iglesias becomes the first homosexual to do a hat trick At Barça, he's an example of overcoming challenges," were some of the homophobic comments he received on social media after the match. Borja Iglesias later wrote: "We continue to live in a society in which respect for others is still very far away."
