35 years responding to the need for housing
The Fem Ciutat housing cooperative was born with the vocation of developing protected housing for sale

Facilitating access to housing for thousands of families who were unable to access it through the free market. This is the mission of Fem Ciutat, which, over the course of its 35 years of existence, has completed the construction of more than 4,200 homes throughout Catalonia, making the cooperative one of the largest non-public developers of protected housing in any form (purchase, building rights, rental, etc.). The comprehensive advisory team at Solucions is responsible for carrying out the necessary tasks to achieve the cooperative's corporate purpose.
The families who have found homes through Fem Ciutat are families—the cooperative emphasizes—"who will reach retirement with their homes paid for and will be able to live out their later years peacefully without having to worry about housing."
Barcelona and metropolitan area
Until 2008, Fem Ciutat was present in several regions, but following the crisis that began that year, its activity was concentrated in Barcelona and its metropolitan area. Xavier Prat, manager of Fem Ciutat, explains that the biggest challenges throughout the cooperative's history have been "achieving protected land and affordable payment terms, as well as financing for its projects." For the team, the greatest milestone has been completing the developments that caught them in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic "without deviations in either time or costs," he adds.
Active promotions in Viladecans and Barcelona
As we mentioned, Fem Ciutat has been developing affordable homes for its members for over 35 years. 46 social housing units in Barcelona are expected to be delivered during the first quarter of 2026.
