Joan Anton Ramoneda, "the voice of Catalunya Ràdio," has died.
The announcer and voice actor left his mark on countless promotions, bumpers, and advertisements for the public broadcaster.
BarcelonaRadio announcer and voice actor Joan Anton Ramoneda passed away this Friday, as announced by Ricard Ustrell in The morning of Catalunya RàdioThe presenter described Ramoneda as "one of the most legendary voices" of the station. Retired for several years, Ramoneda narrated countless promos and advertisements for the public broadcaster, becoming one of the station's most recognizable voices. In 2011, he received an Honorary Mention from the Radio Association for his contribution to "the standardization of high quality levels in Catalan audiovisual production, especially in voice-over and dubbing work."
"He was the voice of Catalunya Ràdio," summarized Òscar Fernández, director of the Catalonia midday and head of news at 3CatInfo. "Because of his name, he didn't get the recognition he deserved, but he was the unmistakable voice of the station IDs, promos, and commercials." At Catalunya Ràdio, Ramoneda also narrated programs such as Who is he, who was he?and in 1991 he replaced Miquel Calçada for a few days as presenter of the contest Goose pasta
