SpaceX's 'Starship' explodes, causing a massive fireball
Elon Musk's company assures that there were no injuries.
This isn't the first time that rockets from SpaceX, Elon Musk's company, have had trouble taking off or exploded just a few meters from the ground. This time, however, one of them exploded while conducting ignition tests on the ground in preparation for a launch. Starship, which is located at the base of the billionaire's company.
The explosion occurred early this morning and was seen live, as the tests were broadcast on social media. The company Space X reported through X of a "serious anomaly" that the ship suffered while carrying out tests at Starbase, the spaceport that the company has for the development and production of Starship rockets, in Texas.
Elon Musk's company assures that a security zone was maintained around the operation and that all personnel are safe and sound.
This morning's incident adds to those suffered by the Starship rocket (with which the magnate's company aims to reach Mars) in recent months: the last one was on May 27, when the ship managed to reach Earth's orbit in a test launch, but it suffered a fuel stranding.
