BarcelonaPolish authorities have deployed a police cordon around the Constitutional Tribunal building in Warsaw following the incidents caused by the alleged suspension of the tribunal's president, Bogdan Swieczkowski, and his vice president, although the Constitutional Court itself maintains that they remain in office. The disturbances have led to three arrests, and Polish President Karol Nawrocki, who was on his way to an official visit to Senegal, has announced his immediate return to the country with a message on X stating that "at such a moment, the president must be in Poland."
The police report that officers have not entered the building's premises nor are they acting against the institution's internal guard, and they have clarified that the operation was launched at the request of the attorney general and a judge of the court due to the imminent risk of assaults against personnel and the disruption of public order.
