BarcelonaAt least 33 people have died in a Russian bombing in the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk, in the east of the country, against two city buses that were in circulation at that moment and full of passengers. According to Ukrainian authorities, 18 more people have been injured due to the bombing, which was a targeted attack against civilians in a key stronghold for Moscow.

Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk region, has accused Russia of attacking the buses, full of passengers, to kill as many civilians as possible. The vehicles were left destroyed, with only their metal structure and charred remains, and some of the victims lying on the road.

This Thursday's bombing comes in a context of a significant increase in Russian attacks in Ukraine and a large rise in civilian deaths as a result of these attacks. According to UN data, Ukraine has recorded more civilian deaths up to August of this year than in all of 2025.
