The same ranking that last year placed Disfrutar in the number 1 spot in the world, and which previously did so with El Bulli and El Celler de Can Roca, also ranks hotels, cocktail bars (Barcelona has held the top position twice, first for Paradiso and then for Sips), and has been doing so since 2010. In this edition of the World's Best Vineyards, Catalonia has achieved an excellent position thanks to the Perelada winery in the Empordà DO and the Gramona winery in Corpinnat. They ranked 22nd and 25th, respectively.

The list highlights 50 top wineries, and in the case of Perelada, it has already come close to last year's ranking, when it appeared on the expanded list in 57th place. This year's 22nd position represents a significant climb, which was announced on Wednesday at the Amelia Park Wines winery, located in Margaret River, Australia.

"Being part of this global selection validates the excellence, the drive to innovate, and the commitment to the land that the Perelada family has demonstrated throughout its history. We are proud to have achieved such a prestigious recognition of the winery's commitment to offering memorable experiences in an extraordinary setting, thus contributing to the growth of the Perelada Group," said the president of the Perelada Group, whose winery alone receives 25,000 visitors annually. Opened in 2022 and designed by the renowned architectural firm RCR, is captained by the prestigious winemaker Delfí Sanahuja.

The Perelada winery has finished in 22nd position.

For their part, the Gramona wineryThe winery, which ranked 25th and is the leading exponent of biodynamic agriculture in Spain, interpreted this recognition as "a tribute to our land and all the people who work it every day." "We have always believed that patience and respect for the landscape are key to making wines with soul." Students of soil and respectful pruning, and proponents of long aging, their most renowned sparkling wines include III Lustros, Bodega Batlle, and Enoteca, which received 100 points in the Peñín Guide for the 2011 vintage. Penedès wines are a common feature on the wine lists of fine dining restaurants worldwide. “Being part of this list is a great responsibility and, at the same time, a motivation. It’s not just an award for our history, but an impetus to continue innovating without losing sight of our roots. The Penedès is our home, and we want every visit to Gramona to be an experience that explains who we are: identity, sustainability, and respect for the land,” the family said. In this edition, eight Spanish wineries have entered the 50 Best ranking. They are joined by historic houses such as Bollinger, Château d'Yquem, Ruinart, and Château Lafitte.
