BarcelonaThe digitalization of human resources is a goldmine for online platforms that now handle previously manual tasks such as payroll management and time recording. Precisely, while it fails to reduce the working week to 37.5 hours, The Spanish Ministry of Labor is preparing to tighten this control., which will also benefit these software companies. In this context, Silae, the leader in this sector in France, has entered the country through the acquisition of two Catalan companies: Sabadell-based Denario and Reus-based Summar. With this move, the Aix-en-Provence-based company explained, it becomes the fourth-largest payroll management player in Spain, with a team of more than 100 employees.

Silae's goal is to position itself as the leading operator in this market and double the volume of payrolls managed per month to two million over the next three years. The French human resources group also aims to double its turnover in that country, compared to €15 million last year. "We are the leader by far in France, with a strong position and a very crowded market. It's a success story of how to grow quickly, and now we want to internationalize it to other countries," Pablo Calvo, CEO of Silae in Spain, explained to ARA.

However, the company has not shared figures regarding the purchase and sale of Denario and Summar. "These are significant investments, and that demonstrates our ambition to invest in Spain and our ambition to build companies with solid track records and financial statements," the executive added. The technological integration of these Catalan platforms has already been implemented and will eventually be implemented across the brands, as they still retain their own identity.

Offices in Catalonia

For now, Silae will maintain the offices of both companies in Sabadell and Reus, but the French company hasn't ruled out opening a representative office in Barcelona to "attract talent." Founded in 2010, the group manages nearly 90 million payrolls annually for more than 950,000 clients, primarily microenterprises and SMEs. Some of its most frequent clients are also the consulting firms and professional firms that serve these smaller businesses.
