BBVA reinforces Carlos Torres' role in future mergers and acquisitions

BBVA emphasized the control its chairman, Carlos Torres, holds over any future mergers or acquisitions the bank may decide to undertake, following the failed takeover bid for Sabadell in October. BBVA has submitted an updated version of its board of directors' regulations to the CNMV (Spanish National Securities Market Commission).
