AC Marca will invest €100M until 2030 to increase productive capacity

BarcelonaThe chemical multinational AC Marca plans to invest 100 million euros by 2030 to expand its production and logistics capacity. Between 2022 and 2025, the Catalan firm based in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, with centers in Spain, France, Mexico, and the Czech Republic, has invested 30 million to strengthen its innovation, production, and development capabilities. Within the framework of this continuous investment roadmap, a new R&D (research and development) center was inaugurated this Friday in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons (Alt Penedès), which is part of the group's objective to prepare for growth in the markets where it is present. The new facilities will be part of a hub that will integrate product research and development, production, logistics, and packaging at the same location.

The inauguration was attended by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, who highlighted that industrial competitiveness "is built with investment, knowledge, talent, and innovation." The Minister of Business and Labor of the Generalitat, Miquel Sàmper, also attended the event and highlighted the need to have an industry "with roots, with the capacity to grow, with an international vocation, and, above all, with the ability to anticipate the future." Marcos Fernández, president of the company, stated that "this new center makes a strategic decision of AC Marca a reality": to reinforce the role that innovation plays as a driver of competitiveness and growth, which is something they have been doing "for more than a hundred years."

The centenary Catalan multinational will dedicate the new space inaugurated this Friday, measuring 4,400 m², to specialized laboratories for the different business areas, such as home care, personal care, or adhesives, which it markets under brands like Norit, Sanytol, Lactovit, Ecran, Giorgi Line, or Ceys. In addition, it houses microbiology, toxicology, and analysis laboratories, and incorporates advanced technologies to reproduce real conditions of use and accelerate the development of more effective, safe, and sustainable solutions for the consumer.
