Hollywood, addicted to reusing intellectual property, capitalizes on the saga Karate Kid after the success achieved for its late television spin-off Cobra Kai. He does this through a film in which the relationship between the original and the remake released in 2010, now converted into a sequel. This allows for the inclusion of characters from both films in the same narrative: actor Ralph Macchio reprises his role as a former apprentice turned teacher, and Jackie Chan returns to act as a mentor.

It seems that those responsible for Karate Kid: Legends They assume that contemporary audiences are more impatient and aren't satisfied with the story of the preparations for a martial arts tournament, so they incorporate several plots that refer to situations in the original tetralogy. The post-production work, which abounds with ellipses and visual resources from video games, confirms this sense of acceleration. The result has something of a convenience store feel: it offers a familiar and limited experience that promises neither great satisfaction nor strong disappointment. The presence of historical characters is peripheral, but this allows the new protagonists time to embody a charming late-adolescent flirtation or a subplot of parenthood and debt. The mix of action, humor, love, and self-improvement for all audiences flows succinctly and pleasantly. And it may not be memorable, but it also won't generate the hostility that other previous installments arouse.
