In just over a year and a half of existence, the new Ebro brand has already achieved several impressive industrial and commercial milestones, with a portfolio of three models called the S700, S800, and the brand-new S400. With hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines, it also has an increasingly well-coordinated sales and after-sales service network that now includes more than 60 dealerships and authorized service centers in Spain alone.

But what no one expected was that Ebro would surprisingly announce its participation in the Dakar Rally, the toughest and most demanding automotive event in the world. Ebro will participate in the 2026 Dakar Rally, which will be held between January 3 and 17 of next year in the deserts of Saudi Arabia, and will do so in the premier all-terrain or 4x4 category, called T1+. In this category, Ebro will face well-established Dakar rivals with years of experience, such as Toyota, Mini, Dacia, and Ford, which are initially the main favorites for the overall victory.

This will be Ebro's second participation in the Dakar, after having a light electric vehicle in the SSV category as a zero car in the 2022 edition. Pedro Calef, the brand's executive director, has stated that "the Dakar is a fantastic test to explore new challenges" and that it will allow the brand to be "the brand" that characterizes its history.

Ebro has yet to announce the drivers and co-drivers chosen for the new Dakar adventure, nor the technical specifications of its off-road vehicle, of which only a first image has been released on social media. With this announcement, Ebro has achieved a significant impact that positions the brand as a benchmark for sportiness and competition, following its recent sponsorship agreement with the Spanish national football team.
