Wind and rising temperatures on the eve of the Immaculate Conception
The long weekend looks to be calm and very easy.
BarcelonaThe weather front that crossed us in the last few hours has left us with a cloudy Thursday and light rain in several areas. Rainfall was minimal, with only a few tenths of a liter in most places. Only in some areas did rainfall reach between 1 and 3 liters per square meter locally, such as in the Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenees, the western part of the Pyrenees, and the southern area of Barcelona. This Friday, the sun will gain ground, with rain still falling on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees and locally strong winds in several regions. Temperatures will begin to rise, setting the stage for a pleasant long weekend for the Immaculate Conception, and above all, a significant increase in the mercury will bring us very mild afternoons.
Friday: wind and rising temperatures
The sun will gradually gain ground, although some harmless cloud cover will remain. Only a few light showers are expected on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees, mainly in the morning, with the snow level rising from the initial 1,000 or 1,200 meters to over 2,000 meters by the afternoon. Northwesterly winds will temporarily strengthen and blow strongly in several regions. The most affected areas will be the central and southern parts of the country, the Ponent region, northern Alt Empordà, and the Pyrenean peaks. Conditions will be adverse in the high mountains, especially in the morning. Some gusts will be strong, so Meteocat has issued a warning for strong winds and gusts exceeding 70 km/h until early morning in several regions between Camp de Tarragona and southern Barcelona.
All this with temperatures beginning a clear rise. Many highs will range between 12 and 17ºC, lower in mountainous areas and the northern interior. The coldest time of day will be early in the morning.
Very pure, perfect to take advantage of, and with little cold.
The weekend will begin very pleasantly. Rain will completely clear from the Pyrenees, and the high-pressure system and sunshine will gradually take over, with only a few scattered clouds and morning fog remaining inland. The wind will also calm considerably. This pleasant weather, ideal for everyone, will extend beyond next Monday, a public holiday and the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
All this with temperatures rising significantly, with very mild middays and much more moderately cold nights. We can expect days with increasingly above-average temperatures. Between the weekend and Monday, many highs will range between 16 and 21°C, but will be even warmer in the south of the country. Very positive temperatures are also expected in the high mountains.
