Wednesday of stalemate before a more important change of weather
Between Thursday and Friday, showers and strong storms will fall in many counties and it will cool down more
BarcelonaThe passage of a frontal tail has reactivated instability this Tuesday in the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees and northeast, where showers and storms have fallen with intensity. Downpours with hail or ice have occurred, leaving, for example, about 54 l/m² in Sant Pau de Segúries (Ripollès) or 35 in Olot (Garrotxa). Until dinner time, showers may still fall in these areas, but the Inuncat plan alert has already been deactivated due to the improvement of the situation.
Wednesday will be a day of transition, with more calm but lower temperatures. All this in anticipation of a more active front that on Thursday afternoon will cause a spell of showers and thunderstorms in many more regions. A change of weather that will open the doors to a brief but more forceful cooling. We will breathe much better these days, but from the weekend it will get hotter again.
Wednesday: calm and more breathable heat
After Tuesday's downpours in the north of the country, on Wednesday at dawn and in the morning the mistral and tramuntana winds will blow strongly in the south and especially in Empordà, where there will be a rough sea, with waves up to three meters high. But calm will prevail, with sun and only remnants of some clouds and fog in the northeast. A tranquility that will continue in the afternoon, with sun and no rain anywhere. Only some harmless clouds may grow in the eastern Pyrenees.
Pleasant and opportune afternoon, with a north wind that will eventually subside to extremes. Temperatures will drop, both at night and during the day, with cooler mornings and bearable warmth in the middle of the day. Only thermometers in the Pyrenees region will rise. Most maximums will range between 26 and 32°C.
More showers and a cool-down
Thursday a more active cold front will cross us that from the afternoon will cause a more extensive spell of showers and storms. They will start in the Pyrenees and will sweep through many regions until nightfall. They will mainly affect the Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenees, Central Catalonia, the regions of Girona and Barcelona, the Ports and perhaps some showers will reach the Camp de Tarragona. Locally, some downpour accompanied by hail or sleet may occur.
A change in weather that will open the doors to the north wind and a clear drop in temperatures. Therefore, Friday will be a day with little heat or with a very breathable atmosphere, and the nights of Friday and Saturday will be quite cool and without tropical lows anywhere. Many highs will move between 23 and 28°C, clearly lower in mountainous areas.
However, this normalization of temperatures will not last long, as from the weekend the mercury will start to climb again. The summer atmosphere advanced for the dates will return, although in principle without any heatwave. Showers will remain concentrated in the afternoons in the Pyrenees region.
