BarcelonaThe anticyclone will gradually weaken over the next few days, although we will remain under its influence. It will retreat further towards central Europe, bringing stronger maritime winds and more moisture to our country. There will also be a pocket of cold air between the western Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands, which will further accentuate this maritime flow. Therefore, this Friday will see abundant cloud cover for much of the day in more areas, even with some drizzle along the coast. This is a minor development, with more precipitation expected in the Valencian Community over the weekend, along with more typical maximum temperatures for this time of year. However, the Pyrenees will continue to enjoy plenty of sunshine. Next week could be significantly more eventful.

Friday: more clouds and some drizzle

We'll wake up again to lots of low clouds and fog inland, in the pre-coastal areas, and along the coast. These clouds will remain quite prevalent along the coast and pre-coastal areas throughout the day. The heaviest cloud cover is expected from the Camp de Tarragona region southward. In fact, a few light showers are possible along coastal stretches such as the Ebro River, the Valencian Community, and the Costa Brava. This will contrast sharply with the radiant sunshine expected in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees all day long. Maximum temperatures will be slightly lower, but quite normal for this time of year. Many temperatures will range between 11°C and 16°C.

Weekend pending changes

Both Saturday and Sunday will see very high humidity, with low clouds and fog prevalent in many areas, especially along the coast and pre-coastal regions. However, the sun will continue to shine brightly in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, where the most pleasant and enjoyable weather of the weekend is expected. Some light rain is possible along the Catalan coast and in the Balearic Islands, but the heaviest rainfall will be concentrated in the Valencian Community, particularly from Sunday onwards. A maritime flow driven by a pocket of cold air further south will significantly affect the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula.

Current weather maps indicate that this maritime instability could move into Catalonia early next week, bringing rain to many areas and snow to the southern slopes of the Pyrenees. This situation remains highly uncertain and will need to be confirmed. Temperatures are expected to return to normal for this time of year.
