BarcelonaWe leave behind a Thursday marked by abundant cloud cover in many regions and some drizzle or showers that mainly affected areas in the northeast, the Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenees, south of the Ebro River, and the pre-coastal region. Rainfall was light, with only a few areas registering between 1 and 6 liters per square meter. All this in anticipation of sunshine and calm weather returning to most of the country this Friday, with higher but still manageable maximum temperatures. This Friday at 3:46 PM, astronomical spring will officially arrive, and it will do so with relative tranquility. The weekend will also be mostly pleasant and enjoyable, but from Sunday afternoon or evening onwards, instability will increase. The amount of suspended dust from North Africa will also increase.

Friday: the sun and calm return

After a lackluster Thursday, sunshine and calm will return to our region this Friday. Humid sea breezes will continue to blow inland, but not directly enough to bring cloud cover and drizzle. They will, however, affect the southern half of the Valencian Community, where abundant cloud cover will persist, with some light and scattered showers. In Catalonia, there will be only a few decorative touches of high, thin clouds, as well as some remnants of low clouds in the Terres de l'Ebre. All this with slightly lower minimum temperatures, with moderate cold in the early morning. Maximum temperatures will rise, but remain mild, ranging from cool to pleasant. Many temperatures are expected to be between 14 and 19 °C. Therefore, spring will arrive in the afternoon with a calm atmosphere, but with a somewhat subdued feel.

Pleasant weekend

Saturday will be another sunny day, with few exceptions. Only the southern part of the Valencian Community will experience abundant cloud cover and some light rain. Temperatures will remain similar or rise slightly.

Sunday will also be a pleasant day overall, but cloud cover will increase from the afternoon onwards, bringing rain to the northern slopes of the Pyrenees, as well as some showers in the northeast. The snow level will start above 1,500 meters but will gradually descend. This will intensify overnight and continue into Monday. These are the effects of a small pocket of cold air which, in addition to temporarily increasing instability, will bring northerly winds and lower temperatures.

For now, there are no major weather changes on the horizon, only minor variations that will not bring heavy rain or sudden rises or falls in temperature.
