A search is underway at sea for an American university student who went missing in Barcelona's Olympic Village.

The 20-year-old was last seen early Wednesday morning at a nightclub in the Olympic Village, and according to ARA (Aragonese Radio and Television), police have found his wallet floating in the water. The young man, a student at the University of Alabama but originally from a town near Chicago, was visiting the city and went out with friends on Tuesday night. Around 3:00 a.m., he separated from the group and did not return to his accommodation or make any further contact. His family has filed a missing person report, and all lines of investigation remain open.
