BarcelonaWe leave behind a weekend of typically spring weather, with mornings of generalized sunshine and afternoons of showers and thunderstorms in the northern half. A situation that will repeat in the coming days, but with some nuances. Today we wake up with a few drops in the interior that will move away, and from mid-morning the first showers will appear in the north of the country, which will intensify and affect various regions of the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, and the northern interior until dusk. On Tuesday, thin clouds will increase and afternoon showers will be less widespread. On Wednesday, the cloudiness will be even denser and the downpours could reach other regions. Temperatures will remain stable, with high maximums for the season that will approach 30 °C in Poniente and in the interior of the Ebro valley.

Forecast map for this Monday morning.

Monday: sun in the morning and showers in the afternoon

Few changes to start the week. There will be a mostly sunny Monday morning in most regions, but with exceptions. Early on, there will be some local showers or drizzles inland, and from mid-morning, the first ones will appear in the north of the country. The afternoon will again be marked by the growth of cloudiness from the pre-littoral towards the interior, which will leave showers and storms from lunchtime. They will affect the regions of the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, interior of Girona, and northern Central Catalonia. The temperature will remain with few changes, with a minimum that will not move much and a maximum that could even rise a little more on the coast and in Poniente, reaching 28 or 29 °C where the mercury climbs the most.

Forecast map for this Monday afternoon.

Precipitation will maintain its intensity and extent on Sunday afternoon, and some showers may also arrive in parts of the northeast and the pre-coastal area of Barcelona. There will be some downpours that could locally leave more than 20 l/m² in just half an hour, even with hail or sleet, a fact that maintains an alert for half-hour rainfall intensity in the regions of Pallars Jussà, Alta Ribagorza, Valle de Arán, Pallars Sobirà, Alt Urgell, Solsonès, La Cerdaña, Berguedà, Lluçanès, Osona, Garrotxa, and Ripollès.

Tuesday: less widespread showers

More bands of high clouds on Tuesday, which will leave an overcast sky in some cases, and also banks of low clouds stuck to the coastal strip that could bother bathers in some spots. Afternoon with growth of cloudiness in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, with some showers that will no longer leave this area, but which will reappear. Mercury unchanged, even with a bit more coolness.

Possible changes by Wednesday

Mid-week could bring the most significant changes. The temperature will drop everywhere, although not noticeably, and cloud cover will be more abundant. In fact, precipitation could arrive in some regions, also outside the Pyrenees, although meteorological models still do not clearly indicate which would be the most affected. Even so, no significant rainfall episode is foreseen for the final days of April.
