BarcelonaThe weather has remained very pleasant in recent hours. Yesterday, radiant sunshine prevailed everywhere, with a very mild atmosphere at midday. Temperatures even exceeded 23ºC in parts of Priorat, the Ebro, and Ponent. However, some changes will begin today. The anticyclone will shift further north, and although we will remain within its sphere of influence, its clockwise rotation will bring humid easterly winds, causing an increase in cloud cover, especially in the northeast, where some scattered showers will reappear in the afternoon and evening. This situation will intensify on Thursday, although it will be minimal, as most areas will remain dry. Maximum temperatures will gradually decrease over the next few days. Separately, a low-pressure system has formed in the Atlantic that will primarily affect the Canary Islands. It is quite far away, but it is noteworthy that it has been named... TheresaThis means that, for the first time, the list of storm names for this season is about to run out.

Forecast map for this Wednesday morning.

Wednesday: first changes

Wednesday's weather will be influenced by light to moderate easterly winds, bringing increased humidity. This will cause low cloud cover to reappear along parts of the coast and in the northeast as the day progresses, especially in the afternoon. Cloud cover will increase somewhat in the northeast during the late afternoon and evening, with a few light and scattered showers possible, particularly in the interior of the Girona region and the northern areas of Barcelona. Overall, the sun will continue to shine in the western part of the country and across much of the southern half. The sea conditions will be affected by these easterly winds, especially along the Costa Brava. Minimum temperatures will rise slightly, while maximum temperatures will fall slightly, particularly in the south, where the temperature will not soar as high as on Tuesday. Highs will range from 16°C to 21°C.

Time frame not clearly defined

Thursday will be a day of variable skies, with light and scattered showers in the northeast and in mountainous areas, such as the Ports and the Pyrenees. Drizzle or a few light showers are possible in the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands. All of this will be accompanied by significantly lower temperatures, especially in the Pyrenees and the northern interior.

The anticyclone will also push a mass of cooler air between France and Italy, causing this drop in temperature. Friday will be much sunnier, so we'll welcome astronomical spring, which officially arrives at 3:46 p.m., with relative calm. Looking ahead to the weekend, there's still considerable uncertainty. Some weather models indicate that instability will increase significantly starting Sunday. We'll have to keep a close eye on things. Temperatures will remain relatively stable.
