BarcelonaThe weather will remain calm and dominated by high pressure. This Saturday, mild temperatures prevailed, with highs reaching 20°C, for example in Girona and Vall d'en Bas. Generally, temperatures ranged between 16°C and 18°C, and there was a feeling of warmth due to the solar radiation, which is starting to become somewhat more intense at this time of year. The anticyclone will settle in for the next few days, bringing sunshine, morning fog, and a marked temperature contrast between the morning chill and the pre-spring-like warmth we'll experience at midday – the temperature range could exceed 20°C between day and night. Therefore, the longest period of stable weather so far this year begins, after two consecutive months of storms and fronts that brought rain, snow, and extraordinary winds. In fact, since January 1st we've been affected by ten storms, and since the start of the season – since September 1st – we've had sixteen, extraordinary figures.

Weather forecast for Sunday morning, the 22nd.

Sunday: Spring tasting

The calm weather will continue tomorrow, Sunday, with generally sunny skies and some new morning fog, although some thin bands of cloud are also expected. Additionally, some isolated low clouds may appear along coastal areas during the early morning and late evening due to the contrast between the cold sea water and the milder air temperature. As for temperatures, thermometers will rise slightly. On the one hand, overnight lows will be quite high in the mountains, causing a marked temperature inversion, meaning it will be colder at night and in the morning at lower elevations than at higher elevations. Meanwhile, highs will also rise, creating an overall pre-spring-like atmosphere. Many highs are expected to be between 17°C and 22°C, even higher in the south of the country. For example, in the Terres de l'Ebre region, they could reach 23°C or 24°C. Along the coast, however, temperatures will be somewhat moderated – to around 19°C – by the influence of the still-cold seawater at this time of year.

Weather forecast for Sunday afternoon, the 22nd.

The stable weather will continue for much of next week, with very mild afternoons, sunshine, morning fog, and a marked temperature contrast between the moderate cold in the early morning and the pleasant midday temperatures. Temperature inversions will recur, with nighttime lows falling below -2°C in the valleys and remaining above 2,000 meters above sea level, not dropping below 3°C or 4°C. The sea will remain calm, with lower than normal sea levels due to high pressure.

No significant changes or rain are expected, nor are any winter cold snaps. In any case, from Thursday onwards, some moisture moving in from the Mediterranean will generate some coastal cloud cover, but this will not bring any changes to the weather.
