BarcelonaMarc Márquez is once again the MotoGP leader, now with a four-point advantage over Jorge Martín. The rider from Cervera has won the Indonesian sprint race against the odds, taking advantage of the unexpected problems Jorge Martín had with his tires. Thus, he has also snatched the provisional first position in the World Championship from him. Ai Ogura finished second while Di Giannantonio was third.

Martín was the clear leader of a race that began with the crash of Marco Bezzecchi, who definitely said goodbye to his chances of becoming champion. It seemed that the Madrid native had everything under control but problems with the tires began and Márquez, who was having a conservative ride, found himself at the front of the race with five laps to go. He did not waste the gift. Márquez won and since Martín ended up dropping to fourth place – with a scare that almost forced him to retire – there was also a change of leader.

In this way, Márquez takes the lead in MotoGP with 343 points, while Martín has 339. This Sunday's long race will be key to knowing if the Madrid native can recover the privileged position or if, on the contrary, it is the Cervera native and reigning champion who increases the distance. Márquez, with seven MotoGP crowns, and nine world titles in total, aspires to become the rider who obtains the most World Championships in the premier class, thus breaking the tie with the Italian Valentino Rossi.
