BarcelonaAfter a lackluster summer, with more than ten squad losses and the sole arrival of Laia Aleixandri, Barça remains unstoppable in their own backyard: Liga F. While they destroyed Alhama FC at the Johan Stadium (8-0) on Matchday 1, Pere Romeu's team weren't intimidated by anything, becoming a new victim of the Catalan steamroller (1-8).

The match wasn't very dramatic, as around the 15th minute, Vicky López, one of the youngsters expected to have a bigger role this season, opened the scoring. The home side's resistance crumbled, and the nightmare for the Basques began. Just six minutes into the match, Patri Guijarro scored the second with a shot from almost the center of the field that surprised Adriana Nanclares.

The match was sealed just before halftime with goals from Ewa Pajor. The Pole, with a brace, made it 4-0 before heading into the dressing room. After the break, four more goals were conceded against Athletic Club, led by Javi Lerga, who has taken over the team this season.

Nanclares scored an own goal, Aitana Bonmatí scored twice, and Vicky López, who also scored a brace, equaled the score from the first matchday, in which the Catalans had scored eight goals. Against a lackluster home side that did nothing but chase the shadows of the Barça players, Pina scored the ninth in added time. The goal was disallowed for positional offside by Salma Paralluelo.

The only bright spot for the Bilbao side was Maite Zubieta's goal in the 51st minute. After the home side recovered, the midfielder saw Cata Coll was out of position, far from her goal, and took advantage of the opportunity to beat her with a chip shot.

Although last season the Blaugrana couldn't open the scoring until the 90th minute, this season they've been able to run riot at the imposing Rojiblanco stadium. The big challenge, the big objective, is the Champions League, but in the Spanish championship, Barça has started the Liga F like a rocket, scoring sixteen goals in just two matches. In contrast, Real Madrid, their great Spanish rival, has only picked up one point in the first two matches of the competition.
