BarcelonaEaster has arrived with a surprise. Although a change at the helm of the technology and defense company Indra was already expected after the resignation of Àngel Escribano as president, the appointment of Àngel Simón to replace him has made all the headlines. Simón's proposal was made by the Spanish government through the State Industrial Holdings Company (SEPI), its investment arm, which is Indra's largest shareholder with 28% of the share capital. the appointment of Àngel Simón to replace him has made all the headlines. Simón's proposal was made by the Spanish government through the State Industrial Holdings Company (SEPI), its investment arm, which is Indra's largest shareholder with 28% of the share capital.

In fact, the change in the presidency comes after weeks marked by growing tension between Ángel Escribano and SEPI following the failed integration operation between Indra and the Escribano group, a company that also operates in defense. While Ángel Escribano defended it, the Spanish government eventually saw a conflict of interest. For this reason, the resignation of this executive has also been interpreted as a forced dismissal by Pedro Sánchez's government. All of this was communicated after two tortuous board meetings held this Wednesday throughout the afternoon, until midnight. Furthermore, former councilor Torrent signs with The Big Move and Grupo Moure restructures its leadership. These are the most significant signings of the week.

Torrent signs as a councilor for an internationalization agency

The industrial company internationalization agency The Big Move (the big move, in Catalan) has signed up former Minister of Business and Labor Roger Torrent for its advisory board. Founded by Quico Ramió, this company works with industrial companies looking to grow internationally and reduce costs and risks. The company accompanies them throughout the process of opening new markets, from initial analysis to commercial activation through a methodological framework that integrates market analysis, definition, testing, and development.

The new member of the advisory board will bring "strategic vision" at a stage when the company "seeks to scale the model and expand its presence in new markets," according to a statement. From the Generalitat, Torrent gained experience in promoting international projection and the economic development of different companies.

Torrent was Minister of Business and Labor from 2021 until the end of the legislature presided over by Pere Aragonès (ERC). Last year, the former minister from Esquerra, who was also president of the Parliament of Catalonia and mayor of Sarrià de Ter, founded the business consultancy Orvian Partners, which, among its tasks, advises Asian companies wishing to establish themselves in Catalonia.

The Big Move, the company that has signed him, focuses its differential characteristic "on a digitized international expansion model, based on automation, artificial intelligence and predictive data analysis". According to the company, "this approach allows validating opportunities before investing, optimizing resources in initial phases and significantly reducing costs –often exceeding 50% compared to traditional models–, minimizing risk and improving the profitability of international growth".

Grupo Moure reorganizes its structure

The Moure business group has announced a reorganization of its management structure with the aim of "reinforcing its growth, improving operational efficiency, and accompanying the expansion of its different business lines," as the company announced in a statement.

Thus, the new organization places Marcos Moure as executive chairman and David Casanovas as corporate director, a figure necessary to coordinate the different business units –Elefante Azul,  Autonetoil,  Washnet,  Big Fish,  Techtail,  and Kumbra Yachts– and ensure the alignment of these units with the strategy, operations, and growth.

Within this reorganization, Grupo Moure also reinforces its commitment to people with the creation of the Culture and Organizational Development area, which will be led by director Esther Rocasalbas. Her role will be to support the teams in leadership development, cohesion, and organizational evolution, integrating emotional intelligence as a lever to align people, culture, and business growth.

Furthermore, the company has formalized two strategic appointments in key innovation projects. Sergi Moure assumes the position of CEO of Techtail, the unit specialized in technological solutions for autonomous retail, and Clàudia Puig has been appointed CEO of Big Fish, the group's intelligent store model.
