Tourism is spelled with a B, like B-Travel and 'Traveling'.
The Barcelona Tourism Show (B-Travel) announces a new, revamped edition with a fresh design and a program of activities for all ages under the slogan 'Biajar' (Travel). From March 20th to 22nd, B-Travel will bring together more than one hundred exhibitors in Hall 8 of the Montjuïc venue.
Under the slogan 'Biajar' (Travel), B-Travel boasts over 100 direct exhibitors this year, including companies from virtually every Spanish autonomous community. Aragon, Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Castile-La Mancha, Catalonia, Extremadura, Madrid, and Navarre, as well as the island of Menorca and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, will be present at the Barcelona Tourism Fair, from March 20th to 22nd, in a revamped edition with a new design and an expanded program of activities for all audiences. This year's edition will also feature international destinations such as China, Croatia, the state of Chihuahua (Mexico), France, Portugal, and Uzbekistan, showcasing offerings beyond their traditional imagery. Also present will be agencies specializing in experiences for audiences such as women and in organizing trips with unique proposals to destinations like Colombia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Mexico, the Patagonia region, and the Nordic countries, as well as cruise lines, airlines, and train operators.
With B for B-Travel and 'Biajar' (Travel), the show adapts to the demands of a market increasingly aware of environmental concerns, connected to new technologies, and eager to experience unique adventures, "with the aim of achieving a less seasonal and higher-quality tourism sector."
Navarre and its secret
The Chartered Community of Navarre is this year's guest of honor at B-Travel. With 33% of its territory protected, Navarre advocates for tourism development that respects the environment, local populations, and avoids overcrowding. "Our participation represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen a tourism model that prioritizes sustainability, authenticity, and innovation, always working hand in hand with the sector," stated Rebeca Esnaola, Minister of Culture, Sport, and Tourism for the Government of Navarre. As Martí Sarrate affirms, Navarre's "great public-private partnership" can serve as an example for the entire tourism ecosystem and aligns with the fair's proposal for sustainable, leisurely, and conscious tourism. A wide range of activities, including professional meetings, food and wine tastings, and cultural demonstrations, as well as an online platform for trip planning where users can consult itineraries and regulations for overnight stays in motorhomes, caravans, and campervans, are some of the initiatives of the Chartered Community. The EKLIPE project, offering to observe the total solar eclipse of August 12th in a privileged setting thanks to the quality of its Starlight-certified skies, is one of the most noteworthy proposals, along with other new regenerative tourism experiences and their project to bring local products directly from producers to visitors.
Uzbekistan and its wonders
The Republic of Uzbekistan will be the guest country at the trade show. With an area of 450,000 square kilometers and more than 37 million inhabitants, Uzbekistan has emerged as one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in recent years and has chosen B-Travel to showcase its little-known natural beauty and its ancient cultural, historical, and architectural heritage. The legendary Silk Road, which linked China to the Mediterranean, iconic cities like the capital, Tashkent, or Samarkand, one of the oldest and most famous in the world, and Islamic architecture are just some of its attractions.
For the president of B-Travel, their presence at the trade show "will not only enrich the event's offerings but will also open new avenues for collaboration between tourism professionals, agencies, and tour operators."
A more attractive and visually appealing proposal
This year's edition also features a program designed to enrich the visitor experience with content tailored to all audiences and ages, including traveling families, food lovers, and visitors with cultural and sporting interests. It will include an animated film series, evening sessions designed to attract a younger audience, workshops and food tastings, talks on sustainable tourism, and more. pumptrack –a course with ramps, jumps, and banked turns– and the Family Welcome area, a space for reflection and entertainment, also for the youngest visitors, with activities, games, and workshops for children up to ten years old.
As part of the professional programming, B-Travel will showcase inclusive travel experiences for LGBTQ+ travelers, organized by Queer Destination; a talk on screen tourism that transforms viewers into travelers, presented by The Travelling Set; and a presentation dedicated to sustainability, promoted by Biosphere and Travel2Care, to encourage responsible travel. All of this within a new edition of ACAVE Travel Market and the Barcelona Activa Job Market Place.
