A woman dies while she was sleeping at the doors of a museum in Santa Coloma de Gramenet

BarcelonaA 47-year-old woman died this Thursday morning while sleeping at the doors of a museum in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. The local police of the municipality received the notice around 8 a.m. after the concierge of the Torre Balldovina Museum warned of the presence of a woman who had spent the night on the porch of the facility and had no vital signs. The museum is located in a quite central area, next to the Can Peixauet bridge, very close to the Besòs river.

The municipal government has issued a statement in which they lament the death and express their condolences to friends and family. The woman was known in the neighborhood and, according to municipal sources, social services had tried to contact her several times, but she had always rejected these services.

The investigation of the case has been assumed by the Mossos d'Esquadra. According to police sources, signs of criminality have been ruled out, as well as the death being accidental. The main hypothesis is that the woman, who was reportedly homeless and suffered from previous pathologies, had suffered a natural death.
