Two misogynistic crimes in 24 hours in the State

ValenciaThe scourge of sexist violence strikes the State again and the police are investigating two possible sexist crimes that allegedly took place in the last few hours in Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia. Initially, a third case in the Valencian Community had been added, which has been dismissed after the autopsy attributed the death to natural causes.

Where the investigation is most advanced is in the case of a 45-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered with a bladed weapon by her partner, a 48-year-old man, who has been arrested by the Civil Guard in Alameda de la Sagra, in Toledo. The crime alert was allegedly given by a son of the victim, a 26-year-old young man, who explained to 112 that the father had cut his wrists with the intention of committing suicide. Three of the couple's children were in the home, one of them a minor. The Castilla-La Mancha emergency service has informed the Efe agency that the assault occurred at 5.16 am. The victim was not in the VioGèn system and there were no prior incidents of a similar nature.

Regarding Andalusia, a 30-year-old woman was found this Monday murdered with stab wounds in a home in Antequera, in the province of Malaga. According to investigation sources, the perpetrator of the crime was allegedly the woman's partner, a man who committed suicide after committing the crime. The woman's body shows stab wounds that point to a murder. The suspect, 35 years old, allegedly committed suicide by throwing himself from the wall of the town's alcazaba. Both were in the VioGèn system, and he had a restraining order against the victim, but the file was recently closed by mutual agreement, so this order expired.

In the case of the Valencian Community, a 61-year-old man had been arrested by the Civil Guard for allegedly killing his 56-year-old partner in Almoradí, in the province of Alicante. The couple has two adult children in common who did not live with their parents. Suspicions were reportedly fueled by the fact that the arrested man has a history of domestic violence complaints. Specifically, in 2008 he was arrested following a complaint from the victim, as reported by the Spanish government delegate, Pilar Bernabé. The case was dismissed a year later "due to a lack of judicial measures," explained Bernabé, who highlighted that in the Valencian Community alone, there are 16,000 women registered in the VioGèn system for threats from partners or ex-partners. The alert was received as an apparent domestic accident, but bloodstains were found in one of the rooms and signs that the body had been moved. According to the Civil Guard, the on-site inspection and the man's statements are consistent with the autopsy results, for which reason the suspect has been released.
