Earthquake in the PSC of Salou for the falsification of curricula
The clash between the mayor and a councilor over the accreditation of her curriculum vitae is spreading within the PSC
BarcelonaSalou is suffering a political storm following the case of falsified or erroneous resumes. What has happened in this municipality in Tarragonès? Just as it happened with the former deputy secretary of the PP Noelia Núñez, who resigned due to liesBerrio did not submit the documentation within the two-month period, but she did so at the end of March, explaining that she had not had access to her corporate email. However, Berrio is not the only one involved in the resume case; other councilors were also implicated, some of whom still have qualifications that they have not accredited or rectified. The government councilors Júlia Gómez (PSC), Noelia Izquierdo (PSC), and Marçal Curto (ERC) had accreditation problems, as did opposition councilors Ignacio Duran (from the local party USAP) and the non-attached former Vox member, Josefa Aguirre. In the plenary session, the mayor committed to removing everyone who lied, although in practice it has only focused on Berrio.
The pointed resumes
What errors or falsifications have the indicated councilors made? Gómez had stated that he had "higher studies" and had to rectify, saying they were "secondary." Izquierdo has not yet been able to accredit two courses – one specializing in leisure and entertainment management at URV, and a postgraduate in acting training at La Casona theater school—. In Curto's case, it has been evidenced that he has not completed high school and has not accredited the title of industrial maintenance technician. Aguirre has not accredited several "coach" courses, as well as tourism studies. And in Duran's case, he has already corrected the errors he had, such as in nomenclature, since he did not have studies in law and forensic studies, but is studying criminology.
Berrio also ended up correcting his errors: he went from being a nursery teacher at UAB to having professional training in early childhood education – some voices speak of a transcription error –, in a curriculum where it was also noted that he is still studying for a degree in political science.
Accusation of workplace harassment
Curiously, Vox initially requested the resignation of all those who had submitted their CVs, but then supported Berrio upon seeing that the mayor was focusing solely on her. In fact, they offered legal support, hinting at a possible case of workplace harassment. Although there are several local voices that reaffirm the harassment thesis – which angers the mayor –, the councilwoman has shown no signs of wanting to file a complaint. At the same time, the PSC already stated in a press release that there cannot be differential treatment and intends to protect the honor of a person who is a member of the federation's executive.
At present, the case of her CV is with the socialist guarantees committee, and a resolution will be issued in fifteen days. Although there are increasingly annoyed voices with Granados, at this time the majority will of the PSC is to renew the pact with the current mayor, despite the friction. It should be remembered that Granados and the list she heads is linked to the PSC, but it is an alliance between the socialists and the local platform Sumem, headed by the mayor, who had previously run for CiU.
According to what ARA has learned, pending a formal meeting that has yet to take place, there have been recent contacts between the socialist Secretary of Municipal Policy, Sandra Guaita, and Granados, with the aim of "de-escalating tensions" and reaffirming that, despite the discrepancies on the issue, the governing pact continues.
