Lydia Rodríguez has put an end to her time at Presuntos Implicadosafter 17 years as the group's vocalist. The singer, who joined the band in 2008 after Sole Giménez's departure, has announced through a statement on social media that she is leaving the music group due to "extreme control" over her physique, "mistreatment" to which she considers her bandmates complicit. In the statement, Rodríguez assures that what was projected on stage had nothing to do with what was lived behind the scenes.

The artist has denounced constant aesthetic pressure that "psychologically wore her down" and has detailed that she was systematically made to feel "bad" about her weight, clothes, makeup, and hair. Among the main messages, Rodríguez maintains that she never had decision-making power within the music group: "For a long time they made me feel completely excluded, in the group I had no say," she details. Furthermore, she highlights that the control became so "extreme" that she had no freedom of expression. According to her explanation, it even began to affect her personal life, as she didn't even have the freedom to talk about what she wanted through her personal social media. "They snatched away my freedom to want to be who I wanted to be," she stated on Instagram.

Singer Lydia Rodríguez explains that the situation escalated to the point where even a band manager told her: "When you go on stage, everyone should want to fuck you." For this comment, she has not yet received any apology, she emphasizes in the statement. For all of the above, Rodríguez holds both her bandmates, Juan Luis Giménez and Nacho Maó, and the management team responsible.

After 17 years as the group's lead singer, she states that the "most painful" thing has been the "lack of camaraderie" from the other two members of the group. "They were accomplices to the mistreatment I suffered and never defended me," she assures. And she adds that she "endured intolerable situations fueled by the exaggerated ego of the other two components." The artist commented that after these experiences, she "understands the reasons" that led Sole Giménez to leave the band in 2008.

In the statement, she also explained that the situation in the professional sphere was "unsustainable" and that she did not have permission to work on other matters not related to the music band, even when the group "was not generating money and economically the situation was difficult."

With the "certainty" that it is time to close this chapter, singer Lydia Rodríguez also wanted to take advantage of the statement to thank the public for the "unconditional love" received and for "accompanying her from day one." Despite everything, Rodríguez bids farewell with "her head held high and very excited about the future" and assures that this is not an end to her career. In fact, as she has confirmed on social media, she is already preparing to release her own music, where she will be able to "rediscover herself from freedom, dignity, and respect." "The best is yet to come," she concluded.
