Shakira: "Here I have spent the most important years of my life"

BarcelonaShakira landed this Monday at Barajas airport, "excited to return" to Spain for the start next Friday of the historic residency in Madrid, with which she will end the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, certified as the highest-grossing Latin tour. "I have been happy here, I spent the most important years of my life here and also difficult moments," she explained to the media that were waiting for her at the airport. She assured that she arrives ready to give the best of herself and Latin culture to the Spanish fans, who have always given her "esteem, love, and support".

Without taking off her sunglasses at any moment, she arrived at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at noon and did not hesitate to approach the many fans and media that were waiting for her, to talk to them, and even to dance. She also took the opportunity to explain the unifying purpose of the residency she will hold in Madrid. "The Atlantic was once an ocean that separated us; today it is a bond that unites us. That is why I wanted to come here to sing and dance for you with the desire to build a whole space where we can recognize each other mutually, in which our Latin culture can be explored," she remarked.

It is a good moment for Shakira, not only because of her relationship with Spain, where she is already called the talisman of La Roja due to the two victories of the Spanish national football team in the World Cups to which the Colombian has provided the theme song. For this last World Cup, Shakira made the track Dai Dai, which reached number 1 globally.

With no further concerts planned in Europe or any other part of Spain, Shakira will perform for twelve nights in Madrid, specifically on September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27, and October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11. The Colombian's intention is for each of these gatherings to become a celebration of the Latin community that will take place in a space built for the occasion, the Iberdrola Music, of 40 hectares. Nathy Peluso, Amaia, or Guitarricadelafuente will be some of the artists who will liven up the different days of this experience curated by Shakira herself, which will feature themed tents focused, for example, on literature, gastronomy, or children.
