John Travolta in Barcelona: "He really enjoyed the bread with tomato and ham," says chef Romain Fornell

BarcelonaThe actor from GreaseJohn Travolta was introduced to pan con tomate with Iberian ham by chef Romain Fornell, who served him at La Plassohla restaurant, located inside the Hotel Ohla Barcelona (Via Laietana, 49), owned by businessman Benet Ferrer. "He came for the first time last Tuesday, and we offered him several tapas," explains the chef, who says he liked them so much that he returned on Friday, this time with ten other people, including his manager. In addition to the pan con tomate and ham, he also ate croquettes, meatballs with cuttlefish, langoustines, and desserts—lots of desserts, including flan. "He was very friendly with the whole team, we took photos, he kissed me and told me that of all the restaurants he'd been to, La Plassohla was his favorite," explains Fornell, who is cooking this Monday at the Paris Opera for a charity dinner that aims to raise 400,000 euros.
A kiss and a book
As he was leaving, chef Romain Fornell gave the actor a gift from Pulp Fiction his book SaucesPublished by Planeta Gastro. They posed for photos with the book in hand and wished each other luck in their respective projects. "She didn't tell me what film she's shooting, but she did say she'd been in the state for a few days," she says. The chef who has a Michelin star at the Caelis restaurant, located on the first floor of the same Barcelona hotel.
According to journalist Joan Callarissa on the program The supplement, According to Catalunya Ràdio, the American actor is filming a movie between Terrassa and the Canary Islands, from where he reportedly flew in his own plane—piloting it himself—to Barcelona. The film the actor is shooting is Black tides, by American director Renny Harlin, produced by the Catalan production company Nostromo Films, owned by Adrián Guerra and Núria Valls.
