BarcelonaThe American actor Roy Frank Mitte, known artistically as RJ Mitte, has died this Monday at 34 years old. Mitte became popular for his role in the series Breaking Bad, where he played the protagonist's son, Walter White (Brian Cranston). His character, Flynn, had cerebral palsy, a condition that the actor also suffered from. Mitte was diagnosed in 1995, when he was three years old, and as he grew up he became an activist for the rights of people with disabilities, based on his own experience. The performer appeared in 56 episodes of Breaking Bad. He was also part of other productions, such as The oak room, The recall and The guardians of justice (will save you!).

"With deep sadness we share the news of the tragic death of RJ Mitte, beloved actor, philanthropist and passionate advocate for the rights of people with disabilities", his representatives said in a message made public on social media. Colleagues who worked with him have also bid farewell to Mitte, such as Dean Norris, who in Breaking Bad played his uncle. "Even though RJ didn't play my son on the show, I always looked out for him when he was a kid on set", wrote Norris. In 2014, Mitte was awarded a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award for his work on the series starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

Mitte also served as an ambassador for the organizations United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children's. The actor founded the organization The Mitte Foundation to support philanthropic and community initiatives and used his platform to fight against stereotypes and promote the visibility and accurate representation of people with disabilities.
