Belén Rueda suffered a stroke that saved her life
The actress explains that she was diagnosed with an aneurysm and underwent surgery some time ago.

BarcelonaBelén Rueda suffered a stroke that saved her life. The actress and presenter explained it on the program Calleja Universe Telecinco, where she opened up about an episode she had previously tried to keep private. "Sometimes, because of stress, I get dizzy and feel like vomiting. That time, I heard all of this much more intensely. My sister lived nearby, and I called her," Rueda explains. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with a "transient stroke" and had a CT scan of her head, which revealed she had an aneurysm, allowing her to have it treated.
The actress underwent surgery to have a stent inserted, a metal tube to prevent the aneurysm from recurring. "If they hadn't discovered the aneurysm in time, I could have had a very serious stroke," the actress explains. "For a long time, I didn't want to talk or go public. I thought it might affect my work, that people would treat me differently. I want to be an active person who lives life intensely, and all of that affected me," Rueda confesses.
Open to love
During the program, Rueda traveled to Egypt with other artists such as David Bisbal, Santiago Segura, and Eva Hache. The actress took advantage of the conversation with host Jesús Calleja to talk about her daughter Belén Écija's upcoming wedding. "She's bringing it with such enthusiasm that it's contagious. I remember when my daughters were little and I separated. I had projects abroad and sometimes I was alone. I had to evaluate whether I could take them on or not," Rueda recalls. Now, she says, she's at a moment of fulfillment. "I'm open to love, but that doesn't just mean being in a relationship," the actress reflects. "I'm not alone; I have my friends and my daughters. I'm happy."
