There are people who manage their silences and there are those who manage compulsive tweets on social media. This is the case of the socialist Óscar Puente, who lives very comfortably in his role as enfant terrible of the council of ministers, witty scourge of the PP and cheerleader for Pedro Sánchez. About the daily problems of the suburban rail service or the hundreds of people that the high-speed rail has left at Sants Station, what can you tell him. The other day he wrote: "They don't know how to fix it [...]. The sacrifice is always asked of the same people". He was referring to Feijóo, but if we didn't know that he is incapable of self-criticism we would have thought he was talking about himself, because, in effect, they don't know how to fix it, and the sacrifice is always asked of the same workers who every morning have to play the roulette of the train lottery.

When the time comes to come and campaign in Catalonia, Sánchez will sing joyful hymns of amnesty and will flood us with macro-figures of railway investment, but reality is stubborn: the State's trains in Catalonia are either out of service or provide poor service, and the PSOE is not aware of the unrest that its disastrous management causes in Catalonia. They must have verified that the trains will not take away any votes because the bogeyman of the PP and Vox covers everything up.

During the years of constant inaugurations of high-speed lines to go from the provinces to Madrid (which was what it was about), the PP and PSOE governments presented the AVE as the emblem of Spanish modernity, without a rival in Europe, and the second most extensive network in the world, after China's. Building 4,000 kilometers of new lines is simple, especially if you neglect the rest of the services, such as Rodalies. Spain bought itself a ruinous toy that it cannot afford.
