CataloniaThe human tower season continues to advance and this weekend has seen a new group enter the nine-story category. Minyons de Terrassa have completed the first 3d9f of the season at the Patrimoni festival and there are now four groups that have completed a 9-story tower in 2026, after Castellers de Vilafranca, Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls, and Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona.

The 'malves' arrived at the event with good feelings after several performances consolidating the high range of 8s and have confirmed their good form by completing the 3d9f without problems. They rounded off the festival with the 5d8, the 2d8f, and the first pd6 of the season. They were accompanied in the square by Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls and Castellers de Sant Cugat. The 'vallencs' took advantage of the day to continue practicing basic eight-story towers with the 4d8, the 3d8, the 2d7, and a new pd6. For their part, the 'gausacs' completed a special performance thanks to the 4d8, which was the 250th eight-story tower in their history, in addition to the 5d7 and the 2d7.

Departures of the Castellers de Vilafranca and the Moixiganguers of Igualada

The Castellers de Vilafranca have made a historic trip to the Vall d’Aran. On Saturday, in Vilamòs, the 'verds' cast down seven-story towers and the first 4d8 in the territory's history. In Viella they completed the 5d7, the 4d8, the 2d7, the 3d8, and the 7d7, and in Taüll the 4d7a, 4d8, 3d8, and 5d7.

While some are showcasing towers in the north, others are doing so in the south. The Moixiganguers d’Igualada have performed in Ubrique, in a twinning event with the Andalusian city, where they cast down seven-story structures in one of the most unique outings of the season.

Meeting of Northern Castles

In Bàscara, the Meeting of Northern Groups has brought together various groups from Girona and Northern Catalonia. Els Marrecs de Salt stood out by unloading the 4d8, the 2d7, and the 7d7, while the rest of the groups mainly opted for six and seven-story structures.
