Ter Stegen and Daniela Jehle split after thirteen years together
"We have decided to go our separate ways," the Barça goalkeeper said in a statement.

BarcelonaBad news always comes together. Just after Marc-André Ter Stegen suffered an injury in September, rumours began to circulate about a possible crisis between the goalkeeper and his wife, the architect Daniela Jehle. This Thursday afternoon the Barça footballer confirmed them through a statement published in English and Spanish on his social media profile. The announcement of the break-up coincides with the news that various gossip magazines brought to light in which it was claimed that Ter Stegen lives in a hotel in Barcelona and, therefore, has left the mansion in Castelldefels where he lived with his family.
The statement reads: "After careful reflection, Dani and I have decided to go our separate ways. The decision has not been easy, as you can imagine, but we believe it is the best thing for us. Our joint approach is to do what is best for our children, ensuring they continue to have a loving and stable environment. At this time, we ask for your understanding and to respect our privacy, especially that of our children." Although the statement is signed by both, only the Barça player has shared it.
The goalkeeper used to share photographs with his wife, but now it has been months since the two of them posted a photo together, although both Ter Stegen and Jehle have continued to share images with their sons Ben, five, and Tom, one. The couple began the relationship in 2012, just when the goalkeeper also began his professional career at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Two years later, the goalkeeper signed for Barça and Jehle also moved with him to Catalonia, where a few years earlier she had studied architecture at the University of Barcelona. Five years after starting their relationship, they married in a civil ceremony in Sitges, and a few months later they celebrated a religious wedding in Tuscany, with friends, family and members of the football world of both Borussia and Barça.
