TV3 broadcasts on Sunday the concert of the 15 years of ARA

BarcelonaLast November, this newspaper celebrated its anniversary, with its traditional night at the Palau de la Música, with the extra touch of euphoria that comes with reaching a round number like fifteen years. The concert back then was titled Visca Verdi! and consisted of a selection of the composer's best-known works, performed by the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, conducted by Beatriz Fernández Aucejo, with the Cor Madrigal (in this case conducted by Pere Lluís Biosca) and soprano Berna Perles, tenor Antoni Lliteres, and baritone Àngel Òdena. Those who missed it or want to relive it will have the opportunity this Sunday (10:50 AM) on TV3, as it will broadcast the recital.

The concert began with the Simfònica del Vallès performing the overture to La forza del destino, which set the stage for the celebrated La donna è mobile, performed by Lliteres. Then, the other two singers performed the duet Mira, di acerbe lagrime, from the final act of Il trovatore, and the Cor Madrigal, after accompanying the tenor in Di quella pira (Il trovatore), demonstrated its power with Noi siamo zingarelle and Di Madride noi siam mattadori, from La traviata.

The recital continued with Perles taking on the role of Violetta from the first act of La traviata, before performing the trio Di geloso amor, from Il trovatore, and the duet Teco io sto!

, from Un ballo in maschera. Òdena, for his part, shone with the aria Pietà, rispetto, amore, and also with the duet Dio, che nell'alma infondere, which he sang with Lliteres at the Palau de la Música.
