BarcelonaTatxo Benet definitively separates from Mediapro after reaching an agreement whereby he has sold the 5% of shares he still held in Southwind, the audiovisual company's main shareholder. In this way, the group's co-founder ceases to have any relationship with the company, and in a statement he pointed out that the operation "means the total and definitive separation" of the entrepreneur from Lleida.

In the same statement, Mediapro highlights Benet's work at the head of the group. "Tatxo Benet was the architect of a business vision that, together with Jaume Roures and Gerard Romy, transformed what was a small production company into a global audiovisual group, with a presence in more than thirty countries and activity in the fields of production, sports rights, audiovisual technology and entertainment," the statement says. And it concludes by thanking Benet for "his dedication, his vision and his extraordinary contribution" for more than 30 years.

In October 2025, the Chinese fund Orient Hontai, which controls the investment group Southwind, decided to replace Tatxo Benet as the top executive of Mediapro, after nearly 30 years leading the company alongside the other two partners, Jaume Roures and Gerard Romy, who had already left the company previously. In an interview granted to ARA one month after the end of his tenure was announced, Benet assured that it was an "absolutely expected" situation and stressed that he still worked at the company every day. "I will remain as an advisor to the company's management. More or less, I will be able to say things, I will be able to influence decisions, especially strategic ones," he said at the time. Now, however, the link is completely dissolved.
