Catalan PEN awards the 2025 Free Voice prize to the Uyghur poet Tahir Hamut Izgil, for his defense of the language and dignity of the Uyghur people (an ethnic group of Turkic origin settled in Central Asia and repressed by the Chinese government) and for the literary quality of a work that gives to the work that gives to the work.
