The Star: 200 years of tradition and a lot of future ahead

It was impossible to make a series of recommendations without stopping at L'Estrella pastry shop. For two reasons: on the one hand, because it's the oldest pastry shop in Barcelona and it's necessary to strengthen the heritage we have left in the form of small businesses and artisans. On the other hand, because it allowed us to bring you good news when the We eat He learned that this historic business's continued existence was guaranteed thanks to two young and determined women. You can read more about it in the article "Two young people revive Barcelona's oldest pastry shop.".
When you walk past this beautiful pastry shop, founded in 1825 and located in the Raval district (Nou de la Rambla, 32), it's impossible not to notice. Your eyes will be drawn directly to its pretty window, and your feet, of their own accord, will be drawn in by its beauty. Once you've spent your money, you won't go just because it's pretty or because of the friendliness of Anna Campos and Judit Servent—who also makes you feel good—but you'll return for the quality of what they sell. Made as always in the same oven. I have a special weakness for their croissants. Both have managed to maintain the spirit and serve what their regular customers are accustomed to. But they also have ideas for offering new products that don't break with tradition.
This year they turned 200, and that's saying something. In such a changing world, I hope that in another two hundred years, whoever happens to be in this area at that time can continue to enjoy it. Here's to many years to come!
