Record turnover: Casa Tarradellas exceeds €1.5 billion in sales
The company boosts its pizza and fresh dough business with the construction of a second flour mill.

BarcelonaThe Casa Tarradellas food group closed 2024 with record revenue of €1.501 billion, an 8.9% increase over the previous year. The company, which does not share profit data, claims to have maintained "sustained growth" in recent years, thanks to investments in innovation and sustainability.
For example, at the beginning of the year it allocated €25 million in the construction of a second flour mill in Vic to strengthen its pizza and fresh dough manufacturing business. These two categories represent approximately half of its production, while the other 50% is the meat business, with the well-known "estampido" (baked wheat) as its best-selling product. With the new mill, Casa Tarradellas adds a processing capacity of 12.5 tons of wheat per hour, in addition to the 18 tons per hour it already had in operation.
Throughout last year, Casa Tarradellas also focused on launching new pizza lines—the latest addition being a Frankfurter pizza—and implementing improvements to existing ones. It also launched a new raw materials warehouse and introduced more meat product lines. The company explained that it has worked on 29 R&D&I projects, which have been funded directly through its turnover. "We've made key investments that strengthen the quality and traceability of our products. With the second mill, which adds to what we launched in 2010, we ensure complete traceability of the wheat in our products and strengthen our autonomy over such an essential ingredient as flour," emphasizes Miquelina Saborit, Director of Communications and Relations.
At the end of 2024, the food company had a workforce of 3,158, 264 more than the previous year, representing a 7% increase. The group also emphasized that 50% of its employees are under 40, demonstrating its commitment to job creation among young people. The Casa Tarradellas team is also 59% female. Furthermore, the company emphasized that it has provided 1,112 courses for employees, which have resulted in more than 65,000 hours of training.
Investment in renewables
Regarding sustainability, Casa Tarradellas launched a project in 2004 to gradually incorporate photovoltaic energy into its facilities, with the installation of its first solar panels. The company currently has a solar collection area of 181,266 m², representing an increase of 3,078 m² compared to 2023. This has allowed it to increase its own production by 9%.
