The oldest hippopotamus ivory object on the Iberian Peninsula has been identified in Sant Quirze del Vallès.

Researchers from the University of Barcelona have identified the oldest object made of hippopotamus ivory from the Iberian Peninsula. The piece, approximately 10 cm in size, comes from the Bòbila Madurell site in Sant Quirze del Vallès. Its surface is polished and has small red spots.
